I am trying to find out more details of my ancestor John Butler.

John Butler (Botler) arrived in Bramshott, Hampshire sometime prior to 1666. He is recorded in the parish records as fathering a daughter, Elizabeth in the parish in 1666 and his wife, Mary dying a few days later.

At the same time as John appearing in the parish so did an Edward Butler (Botler) who had a son John also in 1666.

John Butler died in Bramshott in 1679. His will names eight surviving children: the eldest Hannah, Barbara, Mary, Anne, John, Thomas, Edward and Elizabeth. In addition to property he left cash equivalent to modern value of 500,000. The will does not identify his residence or shops.

At present I can find no trace of John's birth place or date, his marriage, or birth of his first seven children.

I am assuming John and Edward were brothers or at least related.

John is not a son of Walter Butler (d. 1638 in neighbouring Fernhurst) whose eldest grandson, John, subsequently resided and married in Bramshott. They however might be related e.g. uncle/nephew or cousins.
