I have traced the birth of Robert Butler, son of Thomas and Isabella Butler (no maiden name given) He was baptised at St.Mary's R.C. Church, Liverpool on 20th November 1808 (b. 3rd November) This was a Benedictine foundation in Highfield Street known, previously,
as Edmund Street church and, later, as St. Mary's Highfield Street.Several R.C. churches were built on or near this site over the years It was situated just a few hundred yards from the dockside at Liverpool. This church was demolished about three years ago. Robert's sponsors were Rose and (John?) Mooney.
This would be William's brother, perhaps?
