My 8th great -grandfather PATRICK BUTLER arrived at Sandy Hook, Massachusetts in America 1729 aboard the "George and Anne". The ship left Londonderry and Dublin in May intended for Philadelphia, with a Captain Rhymer at it's helm and was commissioned by the Clinton/Clynton Co. Charles Clynton was aboard this disatrious ship that over 90 people died on. PATRICK BUTLER arrived single, was a "mariner" and was married to Mehitable Smith of Harwich, Ma. by 1732. Marriage #2. was to Thankful Baker in 1744 also in Harwich, Ma. Patrick died there in 1758. He has 3 dau. Mehittable, Mary, & Patience. But one son JAMES BUTLER b. 1751 in Harwich. Patrick named his only son James...and both Patrick and James continued to be favorite names for future generations. Where to start looking for parents of PATRICK BUTLER? At this point I have not been able to find a passengerlist for the "George& Anne". Where should I start looking for more clues? Gratefully.
B.B.
